Make It Business Book Club Membership Information

A Coffee-Shop MBA

Every successful business owner, executive or manager reads business books. By putting you in a space with other passionate entrepreneurs, the Make It Business Book Club transforms the solitary act of reading into a powerful new way to connect with other business owners, and turn ideas into actions that will help you succeed.

How It Works

Once you’ve registered for the Make It Business Book Club, participating is very easy. Simply go online to www.mibbookclub.com and find a book that interests you or a subject area in your business that needs improvement. Then sign up for the location where the book is being read, purchase the book through our retail partner, and attend the meeting on the specified date.

A Book Club on Steroids

Each meeting is held at a Blenz Coffee location in your neighbourhood and is hosted by a Make It Business Book Club facilitator. Up to 12 other business owners will attend each meeting – providing enough people for a spirited discussion while allowing you to contribute your important ideas. With our host partner Blenz Coffee, we are able to run multiple concurrent meetings so you will find the discussion you want on a day, time and location that’s convenient for you.

Building Lasting Relationships

With your membership you can attend as many meetings as you like – we recommend between six and 12 a year, which will allow you to meet up to 144 new business owners, managers and executives each year. With them, you will share ideas, solve challenges and build trust – the foundation of relationships that will, no doubt, lead to future customers, suppliers, mentors and friends.

Knowledge to Help Build Your Business

The Make It Business Book Club has a reading list that is broken down into the following categories: management, leadership, sales, marketing, personal finance, strategy, economics and finance. Find a subject of interest (or one in which you need to improve) and attend the meeting with others on the same path. By discussing and exchanging ideas with other passionate business owners, you will find solutions to your challenges.

Only $120/year

For what you would pay each month for a coffee and sandwich you can join an organization that will have an ongoing positive impact on you and your business. For $10 per month you can exponentially increase the power of the books you are reading. For $120 a year you can build lasting relationships with a new network of business owners and executives. Compare this to a single full-year course at a BC university ($900) or college ($500) and the value becomes more apparent.
